The Boys' Brigade is a
Youth Organisation of the Christian Church which,
with over a century of experience of working with boys and young men and
understanding their needs, seeks to present the Christian message in a way
that is meaningful and relevant to boys. All age groups receive some
Christian teaching and are encouraged to attend At present we have
Anchor Boys from 5 - 8 years and the Junior Section 8 - 10 years, meeting on
Friday evenings at Central during term time. BB activities vary according to
the age and development of members. They are selected to provide fun and pleasure,
and to present a challenge to each growing lad. Church parades are
held approximately monthly, when we have All-Age Worship and many of our
members take part in the service. Parents are encouraged to support us,
especially when we have our ‘Open Evening’ when boys are presented with
badges and then give a display of work learned during the year. During the summer we
follow a varied programme of outdoor activities. SALLY WOODHOUSE |
